This short course introduces students to the technological aspects and applications of laser-driven sources of radiation, one of the most active areas of research in laser physics today.
The course begins with a brief introduction to ultrafast lasers, followed by an overview of the science, technology, impact, and applications of state-of-the-art secondary sources. These include parametric amplifiers (mid-infrared sources), optical rectification or photoconductive switching (THz sources), and non-perturbative light-matter interactions (high-order harmonic generation).
The start date will be published shortly.
