22/04/2026: Including Quantum in Space

On 22 April, the workshop Including Quantum in Space was held in room VA3, Via Valleggio 11, with around 60 participants. The event was organised by the Department of Science and High Technology of the University of Insubria in collaboration with the Italian National Institute for Astrophysics.

The workshop focused on the current and future role of quantum technologies in astrophysics research. It also promoted inclusion, both in terms of gender balance and through the participation of international researchers and postdoctoral fellows.

The event took place over a full day. The morning session featured six scientific seminars, each lasting 20–30 minutes, while the afternoon was dedicated to a poster session involving young researchers, particularly PhD students in Physics and Astrophysics. The programme concluded with a round table involving companies active in astrophysics and quantum communication.

The workshop offered participants the opportunity to engage with a rapidly developing research area that combines different scientific backgrounds and expertise. The invited researchers and company representatives also provided insights into possible thesis and internship opportunities.
